Here is a wonderful picture of Hannah working in the Sula studio stitching samples as well as a sneak preview of aw19 samples. We have been working hard making aw19 samples ready for the upcoming shows in New York, Paris, London and Sydney. Soon we will be almost finished.
Alison is recently back from Vietnam where she over-saw the production for ss19. She also worked with our factories finalising the samples for the new aw19 season. It works well for us that both jobs can be done together.
And now work is under way at the studio by the sea, making changes here and there, different buttons and side ties, hand dying garments to make sure the colours are exactly as we want them, stitching in labels and altering cuffs.
This seasons fabrics are a mix of utilitarian cotton drills, warm, cosy and beautifully textured baby alpaca hand knits. We made coats with velvet linings and trousers with soft cotton flannel inside. Heavy heavy silk crepe de chine that moves like water on the body and silk georgette as light as gossamer and pleated with delicate hand stitches.
We are doing our aw19 Sula photoshoot next week. Aaron Joel Santos, our favourite New Orleans photographer, will fly in from Bangkok. We have booked the location and model and we have organised the running order. The sun is shining outside and Hannah is busy stitching with her Nokia on the table……..
