Clothes for real life-Helen’s uphill garden

I have been working with Artist and Photographer Maga Esberg on a series of portraits of women who wear Sula , -clothes for real life. The Sula demographic is wide, with women from their twenties to their seventies finding garments that they can make their own. This is a sneak preview of a selection of portraits of Helen Mary Stronge. (age 66) Helen is a sculptor and a gardener, her amazing garden is perched on an almost vertical slope. Helen has been wearing Sula for ten years. Helen, Maga and I got together one October sunday afternoon. The sun peeked out too.

Simply gorgeous, I have worn Sula for about 8 years now and my first few pieces I can still wear today! They are truly timeless and have endless combinations with other designers as well as combining Sula garments, can’t wait to buy my next piece x

I love how all the textures in these photographs (flowers, fabrics, sculpture, skin) seem to become part of one being… It is so refreshing to see clothing allowed to be itself on a person, and the person allowed to be themselves inside their “second skin”… The world becomes more beautiful when everything is working together in this way. Thanks, Sula, for being such a wonderful company, full of subtly inspiring textures and feelings.
